Bernardo de Pádua is a highly accomplished entrepreneur with over 13 years of experience in the tech industry. He is the Founder and Board Member of Quero Educação, a formal education marketplace that helps students in Brazil search, enroll and pay for in-person and online courses and schools. Bernardo has played a key role in the growth of the company, taking it from inception to pivot to breakeven, and then growing it from 5 to over 700 FTEs, with a shoestring funding. He has also been involved in various aspects of the business, including product development, coding, design, fund raising, hiring, and corporate sales. Prior to Quero Educação, Bernardo was the Founder and CEO of RedeAlumni Servicos de Internet, a social network for college alumni that later pivoted to CaptaVest, a product that allowed colleges to create referral programs that used scholarships as rewards. Although the product generated revenue and worked well, the company didn't succeed at scaling it commercially due to a lack of B2B sales team. The founders had a disagreement and the company split in late 2012, and the remaining founders, employees and investors regrouped for one last shot, creating Quero. Bernardo holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA. He has also completed the YC Growth Program and YC Core Program from Y Combinator. Bernardo's technical expertise includes Search and Senior Software Engineering. He has a proven track record of building successful tech startups and has demonstrated his ability to navigate the challenges that come with scaling a company. Bernardo is a visionary leader who is passionate about using technology to improve access to education in Brazil.
